The Disability Advisory and Support Service provides support for disabled staff and students in the University and also offers support and advice to prospective students and employees. They provide a confidential service and manage the level of disclosure within the University in order to provide agreed support.
They provide information for disabled staff about support and how to access support from the University and information about the support on offer and Access to Work.
Disabled students can find out about the support available to them in the University and how to access that support. There is information that is related to disabled students with a variety of support needs.
The working with disabled staff section is for HR managers and line managers and other service providers. It describes your responsibilities as an employer, and guides you how to support disabled staff. There is also information about the resources that are available within the University and a staff referral form.
This section is targeted at various groups who will be working with disabled students. There is information for external assessors, academic staff, administrative staff, School Disability Coordinators etc. There is also some good practice guidance and information about the legislative framework that the DASS operate within.
