About the course
There is such a large variety of lecture courses that you can take. I’ve found that I have enjoyed certain areas of physics that I’d never really considered before I came to university. I find that I have particularly enjoyed the laboratory courses each year. Working with a partner in the lab has really helped develop my communication and teamwork skills. Over the summer, I worked on a project in the university’s Photon Science Institute for ten weeks. This was an amazing experience and really gave me an insight into the world of scientific research.
Over the last four years, my knowledge of physics has definitely increased. That aside, studying Physics has definitely improved my analytical and problem solving skills. The Physics course demands a large amount of my time and because of this, I have had to become better at managing my time so that I can enjoy university life as well as study.
The department itself is large and there are experts in every area of Physics working here. However, the staff are still extremely approachable and I can always ask lecturers for help if I don’t understand things.
