Additional Opportunities
Australia
A limited number of students in the Honours Schools of Physics and Physics with Astrophysics will have the opportunity to spend their fourth semester (February to July in the second year of study) taking suitable courses at either the University of Melbourne or the Australian National University in Canberra. Decisions are normally made during the first year of study, and there is no need to specify this option on the UCAS application form.
North America
There is the possibility for some MPhys students to spend their third year studying at one of several universities in North America, including the University of Toronto and all of the campuses of the University of California. This arrangement applies to students taking Honours MPhys programmes in Physics, Physics with Astrophysics, Physics with Technological Physics or Physics with Theoretical Physics. Decisions would normally be made during the second year of study, and there is no need to specify this option on the UCAS application form.
Enterprise Programme
Students taking the MPhys programme may have the opportunity to join the University's "Enterprise Programme" in which they will be able to test and develop their entrepreneurial skills by working with an industrial partner on a technology transfer project. These projects will begin in the summer of the 3rd year and continue throughout the 4th year.
