Professional development
Employees of your organisation can benefit from training and continuing professional development (CPD) courses delivered from the Department's newest facilities.
The University’s £10 million Schuster Annexe sits in the heart of the Department of Physics and Astronomy and includes several dynamic spaces that can be used to aid professional development of external business employees, including:
- incubator space - to help students and staff progress research projects;
- fabrication laboratory - to enable the production of prototypes and 3D-printed models of new developments;
- Careers Centre - where employees may come in and engage directly with our students;
- The Ideas Mill - a central focus to the building, providing a space for industrialists to work with our staff and students in promoting entrepreneurship, collaborative partnerships and new business ideas.
