Recruiting talent

As one of the UK's leading physics Departments, Manchester consistently attracts the best students - ensuring a pool of graduate talent for your business to employ.

Internships and work placements

Providing summer or longer term intern positions is an ideal way for potential future employers to interact with our students, as well as provide them with experience in a business, industrial or research environment.

Our students are also able to undertake an industrial work placement in the final year of their four-year MPhys Physics degree. The placement will contribute 50% towards their final-year mark.

If you have intern positions to offer or would like to explore other options, or are interested in recruiting our students, please contact the Department's Technology Translation Fellow.

Recruiting graduates

Physics students leave The University of Manchester equipped with skills to work in a wide range of environments and are prepared to adapt quickly to your workplace.

You will be taking on a physicist already trained to graduate (BSc) level. They will have advanced analytic and problem-solving skills, as well as extensive laboratory and programming experience.

We’re happy to discuss your business’ need to recruit. Please get in touch with our industrial and business contact to make an enquiry.
