New Graphene-NOWNANO CDT PhD programme: 2014 recruitment
The School of Physics is host to one of the newly established Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Centres for Doctoral Training, CDT in Science and Applications of Graphene and Related Nanomaterials (Graphene-NOWNANO).
Graphene NOWNANO is a newly established Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) based on our NOWNANO programme. It builds on the world-leading expertise in the science and technology of graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) materials at Manchester and Lancaster to offer a broad interdisciplinary CDT. PhD students will receive initial state-of-the-art training in the fundamentals of graphene/2D materials, their applications and key techniques. This is followed by a 3½ year research project in 30+ top-rated research groups across 10 disciplines/university departments (Experimental and Theoretical Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Pharmacy, Biomaterials, Medicine, Environment).
Applications are invited for up to 13 fully-funded PhD places on the new Graphene-NOWNANO CDT PhD programme. For more information, please see the Graphene NOWNANO website.
