Student Relaxation Event: Cheshire Dogs Home Visit to School of Physics & Astronomy

Mindful of the fact that the end of year exams can be a very stressful time for our students, the School of Physics was keen to offer additional support, and the chance for them to relax ahead of their exams.

We therefore invited Cheshire Dogs Home to visit the School on Wednesday 11th May. They brought along some of their more friendly resident dogs who are used to being handled and love to be stroked and also gave an informal chat about the day to day running of the dogs’ home and general work of the charity.

The event was a huge success with over 100 students attending. Students were able to de-stress and have some “hands on” experience with the dogs. Feedback was very positive, enthusiastic and complementary, with one student stating “this has been the best day of my student life so far…”

Staff from Cheshire Dogs Home commented on how enjoyable the visit had been for them and the dogs, and they would be keen to come back to the School for a similar event next year.
