Student Relaxation Event/Cheshire Dogs Home Visit to School of Physics & Astronomy
Mindful of the fact that the exam period can be a very stressful time for our students, we were keen to offer additional support to them, and the chance for them to relax ahead of their exams.
We therefore invited Cheshire Dogs Home to visit the School and they brought along some of their more friendly resident dogs who are used to being handled and love to be stroked and also gave an informal chat about the day to day running of the dogs’ home and general work of the charity.
The event was a huge success with over 100 students attending. Students were able to de-stress and have some “hands on” experience with the dogs. Feedback was very positive, enthusiastic and complementary, with one student stating “It’s really nice to know that the school takes our wellbeing and enjoyment seriously and will respond with great ideas such as this...”.
Staff from Cheshire Dogs Home commented on how enjoyable the visit had been for them and the dogs, and they would be keen to come back to the School for a similar event in the future.
