Prof Roger Jones (FInstP, CSci, CPhys, FRSA, FHEA, SMIEEE) - postgraduate opportunities
I usually have a number of Ph.D. positions for suitably qualified students, mainly in the area of beam dynamics, wake-fields and impedances. These projects have both theoretical and experimental aspects. I may have CASE Studentships available -these will be for specific projects. This research entails ongoing collaborations with KEK, SLAC, CERN and DESY.
Currently I supervise 5 Ph.D. students and two PDRAs. Two MSc students have recently graduated from my group in the area of wakefields and beam electrodynamics. At present I have openings for Ph.D. study in areas strongly related to CLIC and the LHC. Some of these research topics will entail spending considerable periods at CERN in order to successfully interact with the AB group on site. Please feel free to contact Dr. Roger M. I regularly teach graduate level courses on, 1. linear accelerator and 2. wakefields and collective effects. These courses are intended to reinforce the studies of my Ph.D. students.
